Title: Goal; Glory Days Author: Robert Rigby Date: 14/4/11
Genre: Sport Rating: 5/5 Plot Summary: Santiago is awake watching the 2006 World Cup Final between Italy and France and then he wished that he could play there in South Africa 2010. Now he has the opportunity to play for 2 different countries; Spain, the better team but harder to get into and Mexico, his home country and differently easier to get into. So he takes the risk and trail for the favourites Spain. Personal Response: I enjoyed this book because the book is at this time and something New Zealand in it. Also the book gives you a vivid image of the time, place and the background. I gave this book a 5/5 because it kept me interested and it made me read it rather than playing with others because it was very interesting and cool. By Thomas Keen Title: Soccer Squad; Missing Author: Bali Rai Date: 14/4/11 Genre: Sport Rating: 4/5 Plot Summary: This book’s main character is Jason, a Central Midfielder for the newly formed Rushton Reds. They lost their first 2 games of the season and their next is against ‘Langton Blues’. They manage a 2-2 (two all) draw, but that game sparks their form and claim two wins in a row and now their looking forward to winning the CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. Personal Response: I liked this book because it always had something happening in it at a time. It only shows three days in the book; Tuesday, Thursday (Trainings) and Saturday (Game day.) Also in each and every book the main character changes; like in this book the main character is Jason. So I think book does deserve a 4/5 because they only bad part is that it only has basic language.
